Coffee Serving Instructions
Coffee is personal, the right way to make it is how you like it best. That being said, mastering a few fundamentals will help you perfect your technique. Here are our tips to brew a classic cup of coffee.
1. Grinding coffee
If you buy the whole bean, always grind your beans as close to the brew time as possible for maximum freshness. A burr or mill grinder is preferred to attain consistent grounded coffee.
2. Getting the right dose
The coffee to water ratio varies depending on the brewing method and individual taste preference. As a general rule, use 2 tablespoons of grounded coffee and 180g of water to make a cup of coffee.
Always use fresh water and/or filtered water to bring out the best taste of the coffee.
4. Water temperature
Your brewer should maintain a temperature of between 90 to 94 degrees Celsius for optimal extraction.
5. Brewing time
The amount of time that the water is in contact with the coffee grounds is another important flavor factor. This will depend on the coffee equipment you use. If you are not happy with the taste of the final product, you are with over-extracting (brew time is too long) or under-extracting (brew time is too short).
6. Enjoy your coffee
Now you can enjoy your coffee, take in the aroma and notice the flavours in each sip.
7. Storage of Coffee
Your coffees greatest enemies are air, moisture, heat and light. To preserve your beans fresh roasted flavor as long as possible, store them in an opaque air tight container at room temperature.
